Following aspects of the folktake tradition, this charming story incorporates royalty, a journey, repetition and a moral revealed at the ending. The plot is simple—a royal baby is born, and the Queen of the neighbouring kingdom resolves to visit the the newborn with gifts. She makes a list so as not to miss anything important, and her young daughter Cassidy writes her own list. The Queen’s caravan begins its journey, gathering wonderful gifts along the way. When they reach their destination, however, it is Cassidy’s gift that makes the baby smile—two kisses and one hug—proving that the best things in life are free.
