Self-esteem-building advice is camouflaged within this guide to style which is sure to please preteen and teen-aged girls. Starting with a quiz designed to help the reader determine the clothing style that matches her personality, the author goes on to discuss style through the ages, and then devotes a chapter to seven distinct styles that girls today might identify with. Each chapter includes: the items of clothing that characterize the style, a list of celebrities who wear the style with photographs to illustrate the look, the history of the development of the style, tips on how to make the style your own, and good advice about how to take care of yourself, your clothing and accessories. The last chapter contains additional information about a variety of topics, all designed to help girls put their best face forward. The book itself has plenty of style with trendy illustrations, page design, use of colour, etc. Altogether a great choice for school libraries and healthy living courses.
