Beginning with “The Original People” and moving on through history to Modern Times, this highly informative, attractive and readable book chronicles the story of human habitation in British Columbia. Richly illustrated with paintings, maps, and archival and contemporary photographs, the text was written by historian and accomplished author, Daniel Francis, especially for young people. “BC People” sidebars and “Fast Facts” add interesting bits of information to each chapter. The result is a lively and colourful book that would supplement any study of Canadian history, and should certainly be in every school library in BC.
