Let’s Go! takes young readers on a journey through time, illustrating modes of transportation on the North American continent, from walking and the canoes of First Nations peoples, through all the mechanical inventions developed after European settlement, and ending with space travel. Each illustration is a colourful, double page spread, with the text set in various sizes and orientations, resulting in a vibrant, dynamic look which will appeal to young readers. This book would be a wonderful addition to a unit on travel or change and introduces a good range of vocabulary (nouns and verbs) related to transportation. A set of “Did you know?” notes at the back provides additional facts. Well worth purchasing for any primary grades classroom.
