This film highlights the plight of environmental refugees—millions of people who have been forcefully displaced from their rural homes, not by political or religious strife, but because their lands are being degraded or destroyed due to the effects of global warming or exploitation by industry. Although these people live in far-flung areas around the world—including Canada—their stories are remarkably similar in terms of the impact that losing their homes has on personal lives. This is a powerful film that highlights the sorrow and rage that people feel in the face of what they see as preventable injustice and betrayal.
